– The species is occasionally cultivated as an ornamental vegetable crop. In many European countries (as well as in other continents) it is an alien plant at various stages of naturalization ( POWO 2023; Valdés 2012 +). In Ukraine it currently has the status of a casual alien (ephemerophyte).
