Type Locality: 1 shell, Holotype ( Figure 4 View Figure 4 A-G), Hare Island , Gulf of Mannar, India, collected by Rupavath Rajendra Kumar on 21.02.2017 (Registration ID: ZSI/ MBRC /M-2961).
Etymology: The species is named using the name of my late mother, Devaki, who supported me in my professional career.
Diagnosis ( Figures 4 View Figure 4 A-G): Protoconch is very prominent. Shell consists of up to 9 teleoconch whorls. ≈15 opisthocline axial ribs. Sutures are well impressed. Each whorl with prominent convex side. Whorl looks like a necklace bead. Hard and heavy shell. Large shell base.
Description: Shell small, short and turriculate, consisting of up to9 teleoconch whorls. Protoconch is prominent and its axis tilted 90 o with respect to teleoconch. Protoconch of “ type A”. Sculpture consisting of ≈15, opisthocline axial ribs. The sutures are well impressed. Each whorl with prominent convex side and looks like beads. Interspaces of axial ribs are twice as wide as ribs. Base with no clear spiral striae. Slight oval aperture. Columella without any teeth. No umbilicus. Hard and shell-heavy compared to the 3 species described here. Colour: opaque, milk-white and not bright. The animal is unknown.
