Cymbasoma chelemense Suárez-Morales and Escamilla, 1997 View in CoL
Material examined
One adult female, undissected, ethanol preserved. Laguna de Chelem , Yucatan, Mexico. 18 February 1991. ECO-CH Z-00513 .
Remarks
This species was described recently by Suárez-Morales and Escamilla (1997) from a single specimen collected at the same locality and deposited in the National Museum of Natural History, Washington DC (USNM 264077). The general body proportions and shape of this individual are as in the original description. The new specimen is 24% longer than the holotype and allows the setting of a new length range for this species: 2.3–3.0 mm. The antennular armature was compared with the pattern described by Grygier and Ohtsuka (1995); the elements of all four segments are present. The cuticular processes on the cephalothorax and genital somite, the location of the oral papilla, the length of the ovigerous spines, and the structure of the fifth legs are the same in both specimens.
