Trigonotylus View in CoL comprises 36 species and has a Holarctic distribution, although one species is known from the Ethiopian region ( Schuh, 2002 –2013). Six species, including T. brevipes View in CoL , T. coelestialium , T. pulchellus View in CoL , T. ruficornis View in CoL , T. subulifer View in CoL , and T. tenuis View in CoL were previously recorded from Iran ( Reuter, 1904b; Wagner, 1958; Miyamoto, 1963; Wagner, 1968; Linnavuori, 2004; Linnavuori, 2007; Linnavuori, 2009; Hosseini, 2013); however, the presence of T. ruficornis View in CoL should be confirmed.
