Lectotype. USNM #38962 (Casey Collection), sex? [‘‘Nev.’’ / ‘‘Casey bequest 1925’’ / ‘‘Type USNM 38962’’ (orange) / ‘‘ Tinotus caviceps Csy. ’’ / ‘‘LECTOTYPE, Tinotus caviceps Casey , desig. R. S. Hanley 2000’’ (red)] (here designated). Lectotype designation is justified under article 74.1.1 of the ICZN (1999) in order to fix the status of this specimen as the sole namebearing type of this species.
Paralectotypes. USNM #38962 (Casey Collection), 7 specimens, sex? [‘‘Nev.’’ / ‘‘Casey bequest 1925’’ / ‘‘Type USNM 38962’’ (orange) / ’’ Tinotus caviceps Csy. ’’ / ‘‘PARALECTOTYPE, Tinotus caviceps Casey , desig. R. S. Hanley 2000’’ (yellow)].
Type Locality. U.S.A.: Nevada.
