Description:
Male ( Fig. 1 View Figs ; Pl. I, Figs. I and II). Body length: 7.52, width:
2.31.
Body ( Fig. 1 View Figs ; Pl. I, Fig. I) black, surface shining. Setae bicoloured, glossy white and brown-black, thick, curved.
Head ( Fig. 1 View Figs ) black, punctation simple. Frons broader than long, concave. Frontal carina faintly impressed. Vertex slightly concave. Eye round with distinct facets. Labrum black, raised, broader than long, anterior margin convex. Mandible black, dentate, apically subpointed. Antennae brown, extending to the middle of the pronotum. First segment robust, longest. Third smallest. Fourth onward serrate and subequal in length. The last segment constricted near the apex.
Pronotum ( Fig. 1 View Figs ) black, wider than long, disc strongly convex, punctation ( Fig. 2 View Figs ) simple. Submarginal line present. Anterior margin nearly straight, with a round anterior angle. Lateral margin entire, slightly convex, sinuate before hind angle. Hind angle subpointed. Scutellum ( Fig. 1 View Figs ) pentagonal, black, flat; basally arcuate, depressed in middle.
Elytra ( Fig. 1 View Figs ) 2.09× longer than pronotum; black, striae punctate, interstriae flat, punctation ( Fig. 3 View Figs ) simple; basally emarginate; blunt apically.
Prosternum black, convex, with distinct chin piece; punctation simple.Pronotosternal suture concave,broadly open to little beyond the middle of the prosternum. Hypomeron strongly grooved for accommodating protarsi. Prosternal spine long, emarginated, apically round.
Mesepisternum and mesepimeron do not form part of the margin of the mesocoxal cavity. Metasternum strongly grooved for receiving mesotarsi.
Metacoxal plate slightly round at middle.
Abdomen black, punctation simple. First four ventrites with patches of setae.
Legs ( Fig. 4 View Figs ) brown; tarsal claw ( Fig. 5 View Figs ) simple, setae present at base.
Genitalia ( Fig. 6 View Figs ; Pl. I, Fig. II):
Basal piece wide, arms acute at apex, anterior margin ‘V’ shape, posterior margin nearly straight, lateral margin arcuate, outer margin strongly sclerotised, thin and line like, rest feebly sclerotised; median lobe slightly longer than parameres, uniformly sclerotised throughout, arms of median lobe long, acute, round at base, not exceeding ventral posterior margin of parameres, gradually narrowing from base to apex, apex rounded, furcae not reaching the anterior margin of parameres; outer lateral margin of parameres from basal to distal and inner lateral margin throughout strongly sclerotised, outer lateral margin sinuate, basally broad, medially concave, distally highly concave, forming posteriorly directed long, pointed distal teeth and apex rounded.
