Previously the Bolivian specimens of E. stictopetala were identified as E. tapacumensis O.Berg (1856: 222) , a name that, according to Flora do Brasil ( Mazine et al. 2024) and POWO (2024) is a synonym of E. stictopetala .
Distribution and habitat in Bolivia:— Eugenia stictopetala grows in the savanna formations of the Cerrado, the Pantanal and the Llanos de Moxos, between 150–800 m elev., always in areas with well-drained soils.
