Myrcianthes minimifolia View in CoL (McVaugh; 1956: 213) McVaugh (1963: 492).
Before the present report, the distribution of M. minimifolia was only known from the montane forests of the Andes of Peru (where the type specimen was collected; A. Weberbauer 6500, F!, GH!, US!) and northern Argentina ( Rotman 1985) .
Morphological characteristics:— Shrub 2–3 m tall, smooth stem and with detached rhytidome. Leaves with oblong or oblanceolate blades, coriaceous, discolorous, 0.8–1.2 × 0.3–0.5 cm. Flowers solitary, peduncles <0.5 cm long. Fruits globose to elliptical, 0.8–1 cm diameter, red when ripe. Figure 4D and E View FIGURE 4 .
Distribution and habitat in Bolivia:— Myrcianthes minimifolia grows in the Tucumán-Bolivian Forest, a humid and cloudy montane forest, between 2,500 –3,000 m elev.
