Daldinia concentrica View in CoL (Bolton: Fr.) Ces. & De Not .,

Stromata semi-spherical, sessile, widely attached to the substrate, smooth, up to 4.4 cm in diameter. The KOH-extractable stromatal pigments dark purple ( Fig. 1B View Fig ). Ascospores brown, ellipsoid, with narrowly rounded ends, 13.4–16.3 × 6.8–9 µm ( Fig. 5 View Fig ).
Specimens examined: 1) Bulgaria: Stranja Mts., the Ropotamo National Park, 5 km from an estuary, on Acer campestre L., 18 May 1981, leg. A. Chlebicki, KRAM F 47531 View Materials (as D. concentrica ).
Comments: It is a the only specimen of D. concentrica in the KRAM F collection. Stadler et al. (2014) reported D. concentrica from the same locality in the Ropotamo National Park.
