Hierbas perennes. Hojas dentadas –en especies extraibéricas pinnatipartidas o pinnatisectas–, de ordinario planas. Capítulos en general poco numerosos, de tamaño pequeño o medio, con 5-20 flores liguladas. Flores blancas.
