A native marine species, sporadically found in Romanian Black Sea waters ( CărăuȘu, 1952 [uncertain record]; Miller, 1986; Nicolaev et al., 2004; Vasil’eva 2007; Maximov & Zaharia 2010; Yankova et al. 2014; Niță et al. 2022). A recent photographic record for the Romanian littoral between the Jupiter and Neptun resorts (43.859655 N, 28.607688 E) (Petreanu, 2022, via Ichthyology of Romania Facebook group; Dounis id.; Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ).
