( Figs 1 View FIGURES 1–10 , 84 View FIGURES 84–89 , 128 View FIGURES 122–129 )

Holotype. Female, China, Prov. Chekiang [Zhejiang], Moganshan, 1930, leg. H. Höne, slide No.: KA680f ( ZFMK).

Diagnosis. The single known female specimen ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–10 ) is externally similar to C. (C.) inquieta ( Figs 6–10 View FIGURES 1–10 ), C. (C.) muscosa ( Figs 11–13 View FIGURES 11–20 ) and especially to C. (C.) aurata ( Figs 2–5 View FIGURES 1–10 ), however, it differs by the more ochreous forewing; the more contrasting black spots on the metathorax; the rather line-like basal streak; the indistinct, light ochreous subterminal line; the somewhat more insignificant orbicular stigma represented by an inwardly slightly more contrasting, tiny, blackish curve; from C. (C.) inquieta and C. (C.) muscosa by the relatively wide, stripe-like suprabasal patch; the somewhat more pronounced reniform stigma; additionally from C. (C.) aurata by the absence of the forewing gold patches; and the less whitish outer part of the medial field.

In the female genitalia ( Fig. 84 View FIGURES 84–89 ), compared to those of C. (C.) aurata ( Figs 85, 86 View FIGURES 84–89 ), C. (C.) inquieta ( Figs 87, 88 View FIGURES 84–89 ) and C. (C.) muscosa ( Fig. 89 View FIGURES 84–89 ), the corpus bursae is more laterally positioned; the appendix bursae is longer than corpus bursae; the basal turn of appendix bursae is somewhat straighter; and the terminal twist of appendix bursae is more spur-like curved with a conspicuous lateral protrusion.

In the female 7 th abdominal segments ( Fig. 128 View FIGURES 122–129 ), the sternite has a slightly convex lateral side distally than C. (C.) aurata ( Fig. 129 View FIGURES 122–129 ), C. (C.) inquieta ( Fig. 130 View FIGURES 130–139 ) and C. (C.) muscosa ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 130–139 ) with a gently curved end and a slightly sclerotized, semi-circular distal band.

Description. Imago ( Fig 1 View FIGURES 1–10 ). Wingspan 31 mm. Head. Relatively large; 2 nd segment of palpus longer than 3 rd; antennae filiform. Thorax. Moderately wide, ochreous with greyish-black, large, oval anterior spot and two black posterior spots; patagia concolorous with thorax, outlined in black; tegulae whitish with blackish scales and thin blackish outline. Abdomen. Greyish-brown with some blackish middorsal scale tufts. Wing. Forewing relatively narrow, apically elongate and slightly acute, ochreous; basal spot blackish, tiny, irregularly shaped; basal streak blackish, short, narrow, line-like; tornal streak blackish, long, between medial and postmedial lines fade, thin, between postmedial and terminal lines indistinct, wide; apical dash blackish, narrow, long, more or less triangular; basal line blackish, double, filled with ochreous; antemedial line blackish, double, wavy, indistinct, filled with ochreous and some whitish patches; medial line blackish, zigzag; medial fascia wide, blackish, outwardly fading; postmedial line double, inner line greyish, outer line blackish and more prominent, with narrow black stripe between veins R3 and M2, filled with whitish; subterminal line indistinct, reduced, whitish-ochre, wavy; terminal line whitish, interrupted by black on veins; basal field ochreous; subbasal patch whitish-ochre; suprabasal patch ochreous, wide, stripe-like; antemedial field ochreous with blackish patch in costal area; medial field inwardly uniformly ochreous, outwardly ochreous and whitish mixed; subterminal field ochreous with large, blackish-grey, squarish patches in costal area, obscure between veins M1 and M2 and around tornal streak; terminal field greyish-black, narrow, with conspicuous, blackish, irregularly shaped spot apically; orbicular stigma reduced, marked with ochreous spot with inwardly indistinct, blackish line; reniform stigma moderately large, constricted, inwardly suffused with blackish, outwardly ochreous, outlined with indistinct, interrupted blackish line, outwardly slightly thicker than inwardly; four more or less quadrangular whitish spots at costa between medial fascia and terminal line, gradually decreasing in size towards apex; tornal patch blackish, small; fringe ochreous with greyish patches. Hindwing rounded, apically slightly pointed; fully greyish-brown; marginal band slightly darker greyish-brown; postdiscal line indistinct, slightly darker greyish-brown, concentrated only in tornal area; discal spot absent; tornal patch faint, darker greyish-brown; fringe whitish-ochre with greyish patches.

Female genitalia ( Fig 84 View FIGURES 84–89 ). Ovipositor rounded, slightly longer than wide, tapering posteriorly. Papillae anales weakly sclerotized, oval, densely hairy. Anterior and posterior apophysis weakly sclerotized, rod-like; anterior apophysis slightly shorter than posterior apophysis. Ostium longitudinally ribbed, moderately sclerotized. Antrum short, moderately sclerotized, more or less funnel-shaped. Ductus bursae short, moderately sclerotized, ribbed. Corpus bursae large, bulbous, weakly sclerotized with two opposing distal signa. Appendix bursae longer than corpus bursae, coiled, moderately sclerotized, ribbed except in distal third, basal first turn straight, terminal twist spur-like with conspicuous lateral protrusion; junction with corpus bursae long and narrow.

Female 7 th abdominal segments ( Fig. 128 View FIGURES 122–129 ). 7 th sternite quadrangular, slightly longer than wide, weakly sclerotized with slightly more sclerotized, relatively wide, semi-circular distal band; proximal edge straight; lateral sides somewhat wavy with less contrasting margin; distal edge concave. 7 th tergite roughly trapezoidal, slightly longer than wide, weakly sclerotized with large, slightly more sclerotized semi-circular distal band without window; proximal edge more or less straight with two curved, somewhat sclerotized rods; lateral sides slightly wavy with less contrasting margin; distal edge slightly concave and somewhat constricted.
