Distribution. Throughout Europe except North ( Merz & Korneyev, 2004). Ukraine: Kyiv; Cherkasy, Odesa, Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk, Crimea (Korneyev & White, 1996); Chernivtsi Region (first record).
Notes. Induces single galls in flower heads of Centaurea stoebe and C. diffusa ( Asteraceae ) (Merz, 1994, as C. maculosa ). Overwinters as larvae.
