Bentham (1852) gives a Cuming specimen from the Philippines and a Champion specimen from China for his D. polyphylla . Later he moved the Champion specimen to his new species D. millettii Benth. ( Bentham 1860) effectively making the Cuming specimen (Cuming 1164) the type of D. polyphylla . The venation at the lower surface of the leaflets is blackish in colour.
