Clathrus spinosus ( Bonelli, 1826) — Iljina 1993: 119 (pars), pl. 15, fig. 2 [non Hirtoscala spinosa ( Sacco, 1891) ].
Discussion. The illustrated specimen comprises only the last whorl, which has about ten broad, probably coronate lamellae separated by slightly wider interspaces. The base lacks any angulation or peribasal cord, and there is no umbilicus. It is unclear if the specimen has spiral sculpture, and therefore generic placement is tentative. Maybe, the specimen represents Parviscala lacinia sp. nov., which is a widespread species in the Central Paratethys and known from coeval Eastern Paratethyan deposits.
Distribution in Eastern Paratethys. Konkian (Middle Miocene): Kiyandy ravine (spelled as ravine Gilyandy in Iljina 1993) ( Kazakhstan).
Erroneous records
Nodiscala cf. stricta Defrance, 1827 — Katona et al. 2011: 6, pl. 2, fig. 3 [non Epitoniidae View in CoL ].
Discussion. The illustrated specimen from the early Badenian of Várpalota ( Hungary) is a Scaliolidae .
