Hemigomphus theischingeri Watson, 1991 View in CoL
Theischinger (1998d, 2000b); Theischinger & Hawking (2003, 2006); Theischinger & Endersby (2009).
*Genus Hemigomphus Selys 1854
H. cooloola View in CoL and H. magela View in CoL have characters different from the morphologically rather uniform remaining species. In addition H. magela View in CoL has a restricted geographical range within the Northern Territory, whereas H. atratus View in CoL (larva still unknown), H. comitatus View in CoL and H. theischingeri View in CoL are restricted to north-eastern Queensland and H. gouldii View in CoL and H. heteroclytus View in CoL are more or less confined to south-eastern Australia. Only H. heteroclytus View in CoL , the only Hemigomphus View in CoL occurring in southern inland Queensland, slightly overlaps the range of the three north-eastern species ( Theischinger 2000b; Theischinger & Endersby 2009).
