El complejo pulchella comprende cinco subespecies reconocidas, siendo posible que algunas de estas sean especificamente diferentes (CARAMASCHI in FROST, 1985:148) (J.A.L., obs. pers.).

La morfología de los ejemplares provenientes de Uruguay corresponden a la descripción original de la forma nominal.
