TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: Simla, Trinidad & Tobago, on Citrus sp. [Plantae: Rutaceae ]. NOTE: Hurlbutt (1971: 283) considered A. craneae to be a possible junior synonym of Asca pseudospicata Bhattacharyya , or a member of a superspecies which would also include Asca craneta De Leon , Asca machadoi Genis, Loots & Ryke and A. pseudospicata (first described species in the group).
