Type species: Lenis longiabdominis sp. n.

Etymology. The genus name is derived from Latin adjective “lenis” meaning “soft” referring to the embolus not sclerotized in male palp. Gender masculine.

Diagnosis. The new genus is closely related to Linyphia and Microlinyphia in having the similar paracymbium; lamella with two to three projections and the spiral ducts in epigyne ( Figs 121A–D View FIGURE 121 , 122A, B View FIGURE 122 , 123A–D View FIGURE 123 ; Helsdingen 1969, figs 21–28; Helsdingen 1970, figs 1–6), but it can be distinguished by the terminal apophysis reduced, hidden on unexpended palp same as in M. pusilla ( Figs 121A–D View FIGURE 121 , 122A, B View FIGURE 122 ; vs. conspicuous, distinct and prominently visible on unexpended palp in L. triangularis ). Embolus small similar as in L. triangularis ( Figs 121A, B, D View FIGURE 121 , 122A, B View FIGURE 122 ; vs. long, whip-like in M. pusilla ). Epigyne with broad median plate, ventral socket absent in scape in new genus ( Figs 123A–D View FIGURE 123 ; vs. scape with ventral socket both in Linypia and Microlinyphia ).

Description. Same as for type species.

Composition. Lenis gen. n. belongs to the subfamily Linyphiinae and is erected here as a monotypic genus to accommodate L. longiabdominis sp. n..

Distribution. Known only from the type locality ( Fig. 313 View FIGURE 313 ).
