Distribution. Europe, Caucasus, Russia (to far East), Central Asia, China; introduced to Hawaii ( World Spider Catalog, 2024).
Diagnostic note. Habitus: Carapace brownish-black. Opisthosoma dark red to brownish-black, with bright pattern, posteriorly with three protuberances dorsally, anteriorly with two. Male palp: with rectangular-shaped bent distal apophysis, bearing a very long tip. Median apophysis distally with 2 stout jags. Embolus long and robust ( Nentwig et al., 2024) ( Figs 4A–D).
