Type species. Cnodalia harpax Thorell, 1890 View in CoL .
Diagnosis. Cnodalia can be distinguished from all other araneids by the extremely long prolateral tarsal claws on legs I and II ( Tanikawa 2006; Mi, Peng & Yin 2010).
