Original description: Lycopodina ruijsi van Soest, 2016: 315 .

Description: This species was described by van Soest (2016) based on two specimens from the 1882/83 Varna expedition. Holotype 50 mm long with 38-mm-long stalk and lower body, and 12-mm-long blade-like upper body, while the second specimen is composed of three small fragments (cf. van Soest, 2016).
