So far, Plinachtus imitator (Reuter, 1891)
( Heteroptera : Coreidae : Coreinae : Gonocerini ) has been reported for the Canary islands of El Hierro, La Palma, Tenerife and Gran Canaria ( VÁZQUEZ, 1986; HEISS & BÁEZ, 1990; AUKEMA et al., 2006, 2013; SUÁREZ et al., 2017; ROCA-CUSACHS et al., 2020).
Now, the island of Lanzarote can be added to the list of the distribution of P. imitator in the Canary archipelago: On 01-01-2024, an adult specimen ( Fig. 3 View Fig ) was found near La Hoya, in the southwestern part of the island. Two photographs of the specimen were uploaded to the online database iNaturalist (see here).
