Type species: Psammoderia littoralis (Golemansky, 1973) comb. nov.

Description: Imbricated scales; lives in the supralittoral zone of marine sandy beaches.

Etymology: The name is contraction between the Ancient Greek ψάμμος psammo meaning sand, and Cyphoderia .
