Remarks. Our specimen represents a new locality record in Terengganu, Peninsular Malaysia. This species is a master of camouflage, found on decaying trees and logs, and moves minimally to avoid detection. Although P. coronata coronata Bolívar, 1887 is distributed in Peninsular Malaysia, our specimens resemble more closely P. coronata sumatrensis Bolívar, 1898 from Borneo and Sumatra by the more pronounced rugosity of the pronotum. However, the genus is still in need of a taxonomic revision ( Tumbrinck, 2014), and we refrain from assigning subspecies status to the specimen.
Distribution. Peninsular Malaysia [type locality], Borneo ( Sarawak), Sumatra.
