albolimbata ( Poliodestra ), 1947: 89. [ Noctuinae . Hadenini ] ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 2–17 )
Type status (description). Holotype in Köhler’s collection.
Type locality and collectors. [ Argentina]— Chubut: Comodoro Rivadavia, 20.ii ( Oort ) .
Type specimens. ZSM: Allotype ♀. Argentina, Prov. Chubut, Comodoro Rivadavia , 20.xi.1938, V. Oort leg. Old label: Com. Riv.-27, 20.11.1938, V.O.
Remarks. Although Köhler did not specify the sex of the holotype, he described only the female. While the material found has an allotype label, we believe it is the holotype. We are based on: a) it was common for Köhler to designate females as allotype, even though it was the only specimen available for description, and later change the designation, either with a new label in the same specimen or in the same publication. Furthermore, this specimen corresponds to the locality mentioned in the description, the sex and the date—as the label was written by Oort, we believe that Köhler possibly confused the “11” with the Roman numeral 2 (“II”), putting it thus in the description.
