Type status (description). Cotypes in Köhler’s and Bourquin’s collections .

Type locality and collectors. [ Argentina]—Buenos Aires: Morón (Bourquin). [ Uruguay]— Montevideo ( Bourquin ) .

Type specimens. ZSM: Syntype. Argentina, Prov. Buenos Aires, Morón, 1924, F. Bourquin. Old label: Col. F. Bourquin, Rep. Argentina, Morón, B.A. , ¿xxxii? 924.

Remarks. Poole (1989) mentioned this species as a secondary junior homonym of Cucullia heinrichi (Barnes & Benjamin 1924) but as he was most certain they are not congeneric, he did not propose an objective replacement name for the species.
