Current status. Junior primary homonym and junior objective synonym of Cotarsina gracilis Köhler (1961) hom. and syn. nov.

Type status (description). No mention of type.

Type locality and collectors. [ Argentina]— Neuquén: Paso Flores, 20.xii.1959 ( Köhler ), 9.iii.1965 (Fleiss), 9.iii (Gentili). Slides #1005, 1141 .

Remarks. Only male described. Poole (1989) believed that this species was a different specie, therefore a secondary homonym of Cotarsina gracilis ( Köhler 1961) , and propose the replacement name Cotarsina gracilisoide Poole, 1989 . We think Köhler described the same species twice, as he did with Agrotis raveni Köhler in 1973 and 1979, because no type material suggest otherwise, and genitalia slides are the same for both species. Therefore, we propose Cotarsina gracilis Köhler (1979) as junior primary homonym and junior objective synonym of Cotarsina gracilis Köhler (1961) , and Cotarsina gracilisoide Poole (1989) as junior objective synonym of Cotarsina gracilis Köhler (1961) .
