Current status. Agrotis leonoides Poole (1989) [replacement name, primary junior homonym of Agrotis leonina Staudinger ]

Type status (description). No mention of type.

Type locality and collectors. [ Argentina]— Río Negro: General Roca, 14.iv.1953 ( Köhler ); Cipolletti , 19.iv.1954 ( Fleiss ). Neuquén: Neuquén, 15.iii.1955 ( Petrowsky, Köhler ). Slide #882 .

Type specimens. ZSM: Syntype ♂. Argentina, Prov. Río Negro , General Roca, 10.iv.1953, P. Köhler leg. Old label: Roca, 10.4.53, Leg Köhler. Genitalia slide #882. With “ Holotype ” label .

Remarks. Both male and female described. As Köhler (1958) did not specify designation of any type, any material that can be assigned to the type series must be considered a syntype (according to articles 72.4.7, 73.1 Recommendation 73F. Avoidance of assumption of holotype, 73.2 and 74.5 ICZN).
