Erect or ascending, roughly hispid biennial 20-75 cm, with several to many robust flowering stems arising from a more or less woody stock. Leaves 30-110 x 5-30 mm, the lowermost lanceolate to oblanceolate, attenuate at base and long-petiolate;
the uppermost ovate to broadly lanceolate, sessile. Leaves and stems with rigid setae arising from more or less prominent white tubercles. Inflorescence rather lax. Calyx 6-8 mm at anthesis, scarcely accrescent. Corolla 11-20 mm, blue to bluishviolet, with 3-4 exserted stamens. Coastal regions of S. Spain and S. Portugal. Hs Lu.
