Robust perennial herbs or shrubs with stinging hairs. Leaves alternate. Flowers in scorpioid inflorescences, shortly pedicellate. Calyx without appendages between the lobes. Corolla with short, campanulate tube and rotate limb. Filaments with deflexed hairs in the lower part. Styles free to the base.
