Stems up to 200 cm, procumbent or ascending, overwintering. Leaves 2-5-7 x 1 -5-4- 5 cm, ovate to lanceolate, mostly narrowly lanceolate, rounded at base then attenuate into the petiole, evergreen, glabrous or with minutely ciliate margin. Flowering stems up to 30 cm; pedicels shorter than the subtending leaves. Calyxlobes 5-14 mm, very narrowly triangular, glabrous or the margin minutely ciliate with hairs up to 0-2 mm. Corolla-tube 12- 18 mm; limb 30-70 mm in diameter, pale blue or almost white; lobes acute or obliquely truncate. 2n = c. 46. S.W. Europe, extending eastwards to S. C. Italy. Az BI Co Ga Hs It Lu Sa.
