Like 15 but lower cauline leaves obovate to spathulate, the upper triangular-lanceolate, glabrous or sparsely cibate; two calyx-lobes much wider than the others, revolute, strongly cibate, with glabrous midrib; corolla 2O-3O(-33) mm, exceeding the calyx; capsule stipitate. 2« = 36. Ecotypic variants:
Autumnal: Type of the species.
Aestival-montane: var. antecedens (Wettst.) E. Mayer , Österr. Bot. Zeitschr. 116: 394 (1969) ( Gentiana anisodonta subsp. antecedens (Pacher) Mansfeld ).
Aestival-alpine: var. calycina (Koch) E. Mayer , loc. cit. (1969) ( Gentiana anisodonta subsp. calycina (Koch) Mansfeld ).
G. insubrica (H. Kunz) J. Holub , Folia Geobot. Phytotax. (Praha) 2: 117 (1967), from S. Switzerland, is like 17 but has stout, rigid stems and slightly unequal, papillose, not hairy, calyx-lobes. It is also calcicole.
G. albanica (Jâv.) J. Holub , op. cit. 116 (1967), from Albania, has a compact habit and revolute calyx-lobes. It requires further investigation.
