Glabrous perennial herbs. Calyx 4- to 5-lobed almost to base. Corolla rotate, 4- to 5-lobed almost to base, each lobe with 2 fimbriate nectaries near the base. Anthers basifixed, usually sagittate. Ovary unilocular, ovoid, narrowed to the sessile, 2-lobed stigma.
