Like 81 but plant 60-80 cm; leaves very glaucous; lamina 35-45 x 25-35 mm, 7- to 9-veined; petiole 30-40 mm; spikes up to 3-2 cm, with 3(-4) spikelets per cm; spikelets 1 - to 2-flowered, not contiguous; inner bract 2-2-2 mm. 2« = 16. Dry grassland. • S.E. Spain (near Murcia). Hs.
Sometimes regarded as a hybrid between 83 and 77(b) but the chromosome numbers suggest that this is unlikely.
