Annual 5-3O(-4O) cm. Leaves 20-40 x 10-14 mm, obovate to spathulate, obscurely pinnately veined, with tuberculate glands. Scales (3-)5-6 mm. Spikes 2-10 (-20) cm, with up to 2 spikelets per cm; spikelets 2-flowered, curved. Inner bract 4-5 mm, tuberculate dorsally; outer bract overlapping | of the inner. Calyx c. 5 mm; teeth becoming uncinate in fruit. Corolla pinkish, evanescent. 2/z =18. Dry, saline soils. Mediterranean region, S. Portugal. BI Co Cr Ga G r Hs It Lu Sa Si.
