Dwarf shrub up to 40 cm, with numerous ascending branches. Leaves 5-10 x 2^4 mm, elliptic-oblanceolate, entire or obscurely crenulate, usually glabrous except for stiff, white, marginal cilia. Flowers in subterminal groups of 1-3; pedicels glandular-pubescent. Calyx-lobes 5-6 mm, oblong-lanceolate; corolla 20-30 mm in diameter, pale pink; stamens c. 12m m; style 15-20 mm. 2n = 24. Dry, stony slopes and screes, mostly 1000-2000 m; calcicole. • E. Alps. Au Ge It Ju.
