Densely white-floccose biennial, the older parts more or less glabrescent; stems 100-150 cm. Basal leaves 15-50 x 6-15 cm, elliptic- to obovate-oblong, obscurely crenate, greyish-green above, white-tomentose beneath; petiole 5-10 cm. Inflorescence simple, dense, stout. Bracts 6-10 mm, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate-cuspidate; longer pedicels 5-10(-12) mm. Calyx 4-7 mm; lobes narrowly oblong-lanceolate. Corolla 15-30 mm in diameter. Stamens 5; anthers all reniform; filament-hairs white. Capsule 5-6 mm, ovoid-ellipsoid. Krym. Rs(K). (Caucasian region.)
