Herb up to 80 cm, woody at base. Stems erect, with few branches, hairy below, glabrous and leafless above. Leaves up to 90 mm, simple or with one pair of small lateral segments at base, petiolate, oblong-elliptical, rugose. Inflorescence lax, with 3- to 5- flowered pedunculate cymes. Pedicels c. 10 mm. Calyx 10- 13 mm, glandular-viscid. Corolla 30-40 mm; upper lip white with violet markings; lower lip violet-blue. • S. Spain. Hs. S. x hegelmaieri Porta & Rigo , Atti Accad. Agiati 9: 56 (1891), from S.E. Spain, is a hybrid between 6 and 2.
