Stems 5-40(-60) cm, procumbent to erect, usually branched. Leaves 1-3 cm, ovate-triangular to deflate, serrate to crenate, subcordate at base, acute to obtuse, glabrous to velutinous. Internodes of inflorescence (8—)9—11 mm. Bracts (3-)5-9(-10) mm, shorter than the flowers, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, entire. Calyx usually with numerous long, white, eglandular hairs. Corolla (9-) 12-15 mm, usually purplish to bluish, the lower lip often whitish, rarely all white. S. part of Balkan peninsula; C. & S. Italy and Sicilia.
