Pubescent to subglabrous, with papillae and non-shining glands. Stems up to 100 cm; lower internodes up to 10 cm, the upper shorter. Petiole up to 40 mm. Calyx 7-12 mm, infundibuliform above; lobes (l- 5-)2- 5(-3) mm, erecto-patent, triangular-ovate, mucronate; mucro 0-2- 0-5(-l-7) mm. Corolla 12-15 mm, lilac, rarely white. Europe from Germany, Italy, and Albania westwards; naturalized in S. Scandinavia, Latvia and W. Estonia.
