Stock fusiform. Stem up to 70 cm or more, much-branched. Leaves ovate, subcordate or rounded or trun­ cate at base, densely hairy on both surfaces, rather softly hispid, often subtomentose beneath; the lower long-, the upper short- petiolate, the uppermost sessile, not decurrent. Calyx 6-9

(-12) mm, lobed to J-|. Corolla (13—) 14—18(—19) mm, white; lobes not recurved. Scales Ungulate, the marginal papillae up to 2£ times as long as wide. Stamens with filament c. j as long as anther; anthers 2-5-3-5(—4) mm, (2£-)3-5(-5£) times as long as wide. Damp, shady places. Around Istanbul; S.W. Ukraine; locally naturalized elsewhere. Rs (W) Tu [Br Ga?He It]. (N. W. Anatolia.)
