Annual, grey with dense, erecto-patent hairs. Stem 5-70 cm, erect, simple or branched at base. Leaves 20-100 x 2-8 mm, oblong to linear, the lower petiolate, the upper sessile. Pedicels up to 1-5 mm, erect. Calyx 2-3 mm in flower, 3-4 mm in fruit. Corolla 3-4 mm; limb infundibuliform, blue, rarely white. Nutlets 2-4 mm, flattened-trigonous; upper surface smooth or tuberculate; margin with 1 row of giochidia which are dilated, flattened and united at the base. Dry places. From Hungary and N. Greece to IV. Kazakhstan; S.E. Spain; an occasional casual elsewhere. Bu Gr Hs Hu Rm Rs (W, K, E) *Si.
