Stems 25-100(-200) cm. Leaves glabrous to puberulent; basal leaves with the lamina 20-60 x 5-15 cm, ovate, pinnatifid, the lobes not narrowed at the base, incise-dentate, long-petiolate; upper cauline leaves 1 -3 cm, more or less ovate, spinose-dentate, more or less sessile. Bracts c. 4 cm, ovate, usually glabrous. Calyx 4-5 cm, glabrous. Corolla 3 -5-5 cm, whitish with purple veins. 2« = 56. Shady places and roadsides. W. & C. Mediterranean region, Portugal. Co Ga Hs It Ju Lu Sa Si [Az BI].
