Densely appressed-pubescent annual. Stem 10-40 cm, erect; branches ascending. Leaves up to 10 x 1-5 mm, linear, entire, few. Inflorescences c. 2 cm, very dense; flowers subsessile; bracts linear, shorter than calyx. Calyx 6-10 mm; teeth lanceolate, acute. Corolla 9-12 mm, yellow, glabrous; tube 5-7 mm. Anthers hirsute, somewhat exserted. Capsule shorter than calyx, glabrous except for apical cilia. Heaths, pinewoods and maritime sands. • Spain and Portugal. Hs Lu.
