Empis (Enoplempis) nodipoplitea View in CoL species group
( Figs 209 View FIGURES 208–209 , 218–220 View FIGURES 218–220 )
This group was defined by Sinclair et al. (2013) on the basis of male hindleg chaetotaxy (rows of setae at base of hind tibia, Fig. 220 View FIGURES 218–220 ), absence of a subepandrial process, hypoproct with inner setae, and male hind femur without row of posterior preapical setae. In addition to the nominal species, this group includes the eastern Nearctic species E. ctenocnema Melander and E. pectinata Sinclair (Appendix 2). On the basis of male terminalia (absence of subepandrial process, hypoproct setose, cercus elongate and medially narrowed), this group is closely related to the E. canaster species group.
