Danaea excurrens View in CoL clade
Danaea excurrens was described from the Atlantic rainforests of Brazil, and our DNA samples from that area form a strongly supported clade ( BP = 100) with similarlooking material from Bolivia. The DNA samples from Brazil represent both individuals with spathulate pinnae that conform with the type of the species and individuals that have a more classic Holodanaea appearance. Therefore, we have concluded that both forms belong to the same species, even though we have not discovered any obvious reason for such heterophylly .
