Petralycus Grandjean, 1943 View in CoL
Type species: Petralycus unicornis Grandjean, 1943 from Périgueux , France; by original designation .
Differential diagnosis. The genus can be segregated from the other genera of Alycidae and most of the Endeostigmata by their prodorsum with less than six pairs of fundamental setae, i.e. the pair of setae exp is absent, the anterior pair of prodorsal sensilla ve being oval or globular, and the pointed or strongly tapering naso. Also, the first pair of legs is longer and thicker than legs II–IV with many foot-shaped eupathidia ventrodistally.
Remark. The assessments and comments on P. caryapecaus McDaniel & Bolen, 1983 from Texas are based on original descriptions.
