Didiclis flaccida (Bory) Li Bing Zhang & X.M. Zhou , comb. nov.
Basionym: Lycopodium flaccidum Bory (1833: 9) .
Type: INDIA. Mahé, sur la terre, dans les lieux ombragés et humides, C.P. Bélanger s.n. (holotype P00677428 ! ; isotype WAG1901915 ! ).
Distribution. India (Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa) ( Shalimov et al. 2024).
Notes: Didiclis flaccida has long been treated as a synonym of D. delicatula (Desvaux ex Poiret in Lamark 1814: 554) Li Bing Zhang & X.M. Zhou in Zhou & Zhang (2023: 664) by Alston (1934a, b) and accepted by Zhang et al. (2013), Fraser-Jenkins et al. (2017). Shalimov et al. (2024) found that the two species differ from each other in leaf morphology and micromorphological features of mega- and microspores and their distinction was corroborated by molecular evidence. We here accept their treatment and recognize D. flaccida .
