Diagnosis
Long hair on head and thorax, particularly in the male, and usually black body enables its separation from the other species of the clitellata group.
Host plants
Carex sp. ( Dyar 1897).

Based on 8 specimens, maximum within-species distance is 0.15% and the nearest neighbour, diverging by a minimum of 1.38%, is Euura moerens .
Nuclear
Based on 4 specimens, maximum within-species distance is 0.43% (0% based on haplotypes of individual females). The nearest neighbour, diverging by a minimum of 1.53%, is Euura fallax .
Distribution and material examined
Holarctic. Specimens studied are from Canada, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
